It is time to be inspired… to look on the positive side of the world… and to start thinking like a Nouveau Riche – the wealthy and prosperous person of the new generation.
Where to start? It is all within yourself, I believe that the primary key to success is a 101% effort, hardwork and prayer; a little and big help from everybody and a big serving of luck. And, maybe Nouveau Riche is one of those who could help.
Because I noticed that if you would take a look from the list of all wealthy and the Nouveau Riche of 1991, some of them are actually not born with a golden spoon in their mouth. Some of them have just acquired much wealth and started with practically nothing, as in nil. But because of their wise decision to invest time and hard work on profitable businesses they have slowly climb up to success.
Some of their businesses includes oil and gas, retailing business, chocolates business, publications and broadcasting, building leasing company, equipments manufacturers, supermarkets, computers, software, hardware among others. But most of them are into real estates.
Most of them also say that, they never settled for one, they keep on learning and updating their selves with the latest and what is needed by the majority of the consumers and started building their wealth on that. This is just to prove that everybody has the power to change their life and make it even better… it is all up to us to make the decision.

It always feels good to be vigilant about what other people are doing to help our Mother Earth nowadays. Why? Because, knowing that there are so many concerned people around the world doing many efforts to save Mother Nature gives a different sense of encouragement for me to do the same… on my own little or big ways.
Beginning today, I promise to gather all the information I can get and share it with you folks. And, hopefully it can also inspire not only me, but all of us - that there is still hope to save our EARTH.
And, recently I have here two good commendable efforts from the big cities THAT will surely create big impact to fight global warming.

NEW YORK (AFP) - - New York’s Great White Way turned a shade greener Tuesday as Broadway announced plans for making theaters more environmentally sound.
Broadway leaders joined Mayor Michael Bloomberg at the Eugene O’Neill Theater to commit to wider efforts meant to reduce the city’s carbon footprint by a third over two decades, the mayor’s office said.
Switching light bulbs in the dazzling street displays, recycling stage scenery, and washing costumes in cold water are some of the steps promised by theater-land.
“Nearly a quarter of Broadway theaters have already switched the theaters’ marquee lights to more energy-efficient bulbs and the remaining theaters have pledged to do so within the next 12 months,” Bloomberg said.
“By this time next year, the lights on Broadway will burn just as bright, but the energy bills and our city’s carbon output will be lower,” he said.
“This commitment will raise the level of awareness… and that’s going to have an impact that reverberates far beyond the Big Apple.”
Bloomberg has made greening New York a priority, although he has failed so far to push through fuel-efficiency standards for the city’s huge yellow cab taxi fleet.
Although, it will still take time before we can feel the effect, nevertheless, the effort deserves two thumbs-up. By the way, I just want to share that we have also done the same thing months ago, we opted to buy energy-efficient bulbs instead of the ordinary ones. Hope you did/do the same, too.

Barrack Obama won! But that doesn’t guarantee that he will do the entire job to bring us to financial stability. But he inspires, he unites and teaches us that nothing is impossible as long as you have the burning passion to succeed regardless of all the adversities in life.
We all have to do something to achieve better life. And, what other better way there is done to educate ourselves further, try other opportunities and work harder.
How about enrolling yourself in Nouveau Riche college? Where you will learn real estate investing and business related classes such as short sales, wholesaling, fix and flip, business financial management, foreclosures, retirement plan investing buying out of state deals and others - Nouveau Riche way.
Perhaps, the greatest deal Nouveau Riche can offer is their guarantee that they will be there to support you the moment you start applying everything you have learned from them into real life challenges. You can always dream bigger and higher, to achieve your goals. But whether you enrolled to them or to others and knowing all the procedures, concepts and rules of real estate investment game is nothing if you will not pair it with hard work and dedication.

I read this somewhere, a few months ago, I saved it and thought it could be a good way to help mother earth.
Then after some months, I realized it would be best I will help in spreading the word, too. I am just sorry because I forgot to take note the name of the one who wrote this. But, anyway.. thanks.

Upon reading the numerous success stories of people who were brave enough and dared to enroll and try a “university” which offers brighter future on real estate business, it made me think twice if the Nouveau Riche Scam is indeed true, or just a victim of bad mouthing of many envious people out there, the one we called crab-mentality system.
Many have already claimed to have quited their jobs and are a living testimony on how they have closed numerous properties to create wealth for them and for their family. They have come out just to prove that Nouveau Riche Scam is not true. And, that they are indeed the proof of that claim. Despite the global financial crisis, at least they knew that they worked hard to earn every penny they are enjoying now and that they can survive through.
Whether, you/we choose to believe them or not, whether you still like to insist about Nouveau Riche Scam, I guess the knowledge they have gained on real estate investing and business related classes such as short sales, wholesaling, fix and flip, business financial management, foreclosures, retirement plan investing buying out of state deals and others, are already treasures they can use for the benefits of themselves.

I must admit that I have a first hand experience with a drug addicted person when I was still in my younger years. At that time, I didn’t understand much. I was just told not to go with that person alone. I see him in and out of drug rehab and even police precincts for various reasons.
Many quarreling, frustrations and misunderstanding had come to pass in our family because of that situation. That it came to the point that some of my relatives just did not cared anymore – or should I say just pretended that everything is okay.
As I grew older, I learned more about drug addiction treatment. And that is when I begun to understand the importance of knowledge to cope up with different situations. I must say that ignorance or pretending to be ignorant is sometimes the cause of many problems. If only our elders had taken the time to seek more help and information, I guess we could have done more good to that person.
Do you know that not every form of treatment works well for an addicted person?
Some where treated by 12-step-principles, some with their Christian faith, cognitive approaches and other holistic treatment, and sadly some didn’t became receptive to said treatments. But the good thing is that tireless good people didn’t stop searching for other forms of treatment that could help, until they have formed a treatment which is a combination of different therapies that could work on the body, mind and spirit of your loved one.
Maybe it is already too late to help my brother, but maybe you still have the power to make a difference. That is why I am sharing this information provided by stopyouraddiction, because indeed I learned so much and how I wish at least some of the information can help you if you are in a situation with a person who badly needs to be in drug rehabilitation.

Not every child in our country is raised in a safe and loving home. More often than we realize, children become the victims of abuse and neglect from the very people they should be able to trust the most, their parents and their relatives.
Our government must look unto this matter and designate a month of Child Abuse Prevention Month to increase public awareness of the serious threats that child maltreatment imposes on children, and to encourage our brethren to break the cycle of violence.
DEFINITIONS OF CHILD ABUSE
Before we elaborate on this topic, let me define you child abuse on a common point of reference, to determine the type of solution and the level of intervention. Child abuse has many definitions but Balanon used the one provided by the Special Child Protection Law or RA 7610. Section 3 of the said law states that child abuse is the maltreatment of a child, whether habitual or not, which include any of the following:
1. Psychological and physical abuse, neglect, cruelty, sexual abuse and emotional maltreatment;
2. Any act by deeds or words that debases, degrades or demeans the intrinsic worth and dignity of a child as a human being;
3. Unreasonable deprivation of his basic needs for survival such as food and shelter;
4. Failure to immediately give medical treatment to an injured child resulting to serious impairment of his growth or development or in his permanent incapacity or death.
This definition points to four types of child abuse: namely, psychological/emotional maltreatment, physical abuse/cruelty, sexual abuse, and neglect.
The Implementing Rules and Regulations to RA 7610 define some terms within the context of the Philippine law.
1. Physical abuse is included in the definition of cruelty and physical injury. It states that “discipline administered by a parent or legal guardian to a child does not constitute cruelty provided it is reasonable in manner and moderate in degree and does not constitute physical or psychological injury”. What is reasonable and moderate is based on an assessment influenced by one’s values, beliefs and own experiences.
2. Sexual abuse refers to an act “generally perpetuated by an adult the child knows, most often a parent, guardian, or a person with authority over the child and that generally has no commercial element”. Sexual exploitation on the one hand involves a commercial element such as the commercial exploitation of children in prostitution and pornography.
3. Marriage between ascendants and descendants of any degree and that between brothers and sisters whether of the full or half-blood is null and void. Incest is defined as sexual acts committed by persons prohibited to marry.
Balanon classified the causes of abuse into three distinct categories:
1. “Parent factors” are the characteristics of parents that increase the likelihood of abuse.
2. “Child factors” are the characteristics of the child that increase the likelihood of abuse.
3. “Environmental factors” refer to the physical, social, cultural and economic factors creating situations that increase the likelihood of abuse such as poverty, lack of support system in the community, stresses brought about by unemployment, poor housing, prolonged illness, accidents among others. Media particularly pornographic materials were mentioned as having a strong influence.
Child abuse and neglect has a devastating impact on the life of a child that goes beyond the immediate physical and emotional pain that is inflicted on them. Children who suffer from maltreatment are at greater risk of developmental delays and behavioral problems that could last a lifetime. Child maltreatment can delay or disrupt the normal cognitive development process which, in turn, impacts academic achievement.
Here I state the lists of the major consequences:
• Physical and sexual abuse; rape and other physical assault;
• Risk/danger of death and serious diseases;
• Unwanted pregnancies, forced abortion and abortion-related complications;
• Mental and emotional problems, including nightmares, insomnia and suicidal tendencies;
• Alcohol and drug abuse and addiction; and even suicide and murder;
• Prosecution/deportation for trafficking-related offences;
• Growing influence of criminal organizations;
• Corruption among the government offices;
• Declining public confidence.
Furthermore, children who are the victims of abuse and neglect tend to have lower math scores and English grades, and they repeat grades more frequently than other children. We know that poor academic skills can lead to a child’s dropping out of school, continuing a cycle of negative consequences that can last a lifetime.
From the excerpt of the book Women in Developmental-Inter-Agency Committee, UNICEF, U.P. Center for Women’s Studies Foundation: Breaking the Silence, 2001, states that almost all victims (98%) of intra-family or domestic violence are women and girls. In the Philippines, the average age of the victim is 23 years old. Three out of ten are young adult females (18-24); four out of ten are adults (25-49). Children (0-17 years old) comprise a third of the total victims of domestic abuse, with more than half of the cases involving sexual abuse. Though most victims are educated (with almost half having reached the high school level), one out of four victims is not even old enough to attend school. The youngest victim in a recorded domestic abuse case is an infant less than two years old.
Certainly, conditions such as those associated with extreme poverty, strained relationships among members of the victim’s family, and a previous history of abuse all seem to contribute to the likelihood of violence being committed within a household. The influence of alcohol or drugs is also a major aggravating factor in domestic violence, cited in one out of every four cases.
In the case of young victims of sexual abuse, lack of sexual awareness was cited as the reason for which nearly two out of ten children did not report the abuse – they had no idea that they were being violated. This tragedy is compounded by the fact that the abuse was being inflicted by figures they look up to and depend upon for protection
A history of child abuse and neglect can also disrupt the development of skills that children use to interact with others, such as problem-solving and communication. These skills are critical in stopping the development of other serious behavior problems even among seriously troubled youth. Moreover, victims of child abuse and neglect tend to have greater levels of depression compared to other children. These children are also more likely to suffer from mental illness, experience problems with drugs, and are more likely to become teen-age parents.
Not every child who has suffered from abuse and neglect will experience poor outcomes. Many maltreated children will persevere against the odds and find the ability to cope and even to thrive. They could develop and maintain the personal characteristics that will make them more resilient than others. Of course, this resilience can depend on a child’s finding a safe and loving home to live in and access to support systems, educational resources, and health care.
These amazing kids deserve to be recognized and celebrated for their remarkable ability to persevere over the most difficult of circumstances and for setting an example for other children.
Our government should enforce and implement the family safety awareness in preventing child abuse through our basic unit society ‘barangays’. Their must be seminars and trainings in various areas most specially in most affected areas having highest rate of child abuse.
These are only modest steps that will strengthen our ability to prevent the incidence of child abuse and support vulnerable families. Certainly more can be done, but these programs express the commitment of our government to protect abused and neglected children.
In campaign for Child Abuse Prevention Month, I urge my colleagues to join me in increasing public awareness of the threat to innocent children and to promote public policies designed to prevent child abuse and safeguard our most vulnerable children like us. If not today, when will it be?

Help! This is what addicted people to different vices really needs. But the problem is that it is not that simple to give help to these people. Yes, it is easy to lend a helping hand to elders crossing the street, or to give alms to the beggars, or to give food to the hungry, or even to give some time to visit the prisoners.
But helping an addicted person is a very different thing. It is a very complex task and requires the help of the experts. It is a complete task of helping a person not just physically but also emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. And it entails that the helper should be fit in every aspect as well.
Yes, we all know that more than anything else, it is really a very difficult time for the whole family. But then, they are the strong pillars that should idealistically make the first step in administering help.
First things first, the factors you have to consider are:
a. you have to seek the best and most suitable drug rehab,
b. a rehab that would be capable of doing a complete drug detoxification
c. and if intervention is needed because there is still a refusal on the part of the person who is drug addicted to accept that he really needs medical attention.
Choosing a drug rehab can be a very crucial step, a family must be able to identify and decide a center that would be capable in helping their love ones, a place that they can trust, a place that they too would be comfortable with.
Drug rehabs that is also complete with all the modern facilities of today like drug detoxification facilities.
And in case of denial or refusal on the part of your love one to enter a drug rehab, your chosen drug rehabilitation center should be equipped with professional and properly trained people that could give proper intervention. Intervention works by breaking through the person’s denial by approaching several of his/her defense mechanisms all at once. Removing or short-circuiting the person’s defense mechanisms allows the family to present the truth about his/her problem in a calm, rational and loving manner.
It could be indeed a very tough time, but for our loved ones, there is nothing we can not do.

I was trying to remember a song with this lyrics “no more snow cap mountains”, I heard it before, I just could not identify the song, the lyrics came across my mind when I heard the latest news that indeed the icebergs can soon be - extinct in a few more years.
(sorry, I know icebergs and snow cap mountains are two different things, I just don’t know why I imagined mountains at that time of iceberg news :-))
But instead I found this song from our old time favorite Pocahontas, originally performed by Vanessa Williams, I just hope someone would revive it again, because the song is really timeless… each lyrics is a new lesson to learn and understand.
Colors Of The Wind
You think I’m an ignorant savage
And you’ve been so many places
I guess it must be so
But still I cannot see
If the savage one is me
How can there be so much that you don’t know?
You don’t know …
You think you own whatever land you land on
The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You’ll learn things you never knew you never knew
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they’re worth
The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends
How high will the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you’ll never know
And you’ll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the Earth and still
All you’ll own is Earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind
